About Lauren

Lauren Bydalek (b. 1995) is a composer, arranger, songwriter, and performer based out of Nebraska. She graduated with honors and high distinction from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln, earning her bachelor’s degree in May 2018. During her time there, she studied under Kurt Knecht and Greg Simon, as well as performing in vocal ensembles under the direction of Matthew Oltman, David Von Kampen, and Pete Ecklund.

With experience in classical piano, vocal jazz, church music, a capella, show choir, songwriting, and orchestra, Lauren is a well-rounded musician. This background has resulted in a large variety of projects and compositions. Most notably, this includes Life Through Color, a singer-songwriter EP, Postcards from the Land of the Rising Sun, an Undergraduate Honors thesis for Chamber Orchestra, and a number of chamber, choral, and solo works.

Lauren currently lives in Grand Island, Nebraska and works as a freelance composer and an accompanist for Grand Island Public Schools. She lives with her husband, Colten McCauley, and their border collie, Elvis.
